Here is a little bit of the story behind the iconic Gulf 20 livery and how I became the owner of this car.
This car is the iconic 1970 Le Mans winning Porsché 917. This was then depicted in the 1971 film "LeMans" which featured Steve McQueen. This livery has been replicated on many a Porsché, and you might agree that it certainly stands out amongst the crowd. You can read more about the car and
Steve McQueen by clicking the link below.
Steve McQueen - 1970 "Le Mans"
The car is a Porsche Boxster 987 S and was manufactured in 2005 and registered for the road in the same year.
The original colour of the car is Artic Silver, and to be honest its not the best colour in the world.
Personally I had always wanted a Yellow coloured Porsché, but these are very rare let alone come up for sale on a
regular basis. I stumbled across this Porsché while a little bored in the office one day and the moment I saw it I
thought to myself, I have to buy that. I was already in the Gulf livery and looked fairly stunning then. I thought
what an iconic livery to be seen driving around in, and what a show off it would be too.
I purchased the car in August 2022 and from the moment I drove it away I got that feeling that everyone was
looking at me as I drove down the motorway with the roof down. I still was pinching myself for buying and driving
such a car and the smile of my face was beaming from one side to the other. I drove the car for a few months,
mainly at weekends during the winter months. I know some people only drive these cars in the fair to good weather,
but I thought I want to drive this as much as possible (instead of my other car, a very common Ford Focus).
Once Spring of 2023 came along I decided to get the livery renewed as it is a vinyl wrap and there were parts of the
wrap I was not happy with and wanted sorting out.
I enlisted "Dub Customs" in Essex to do the wrap for me as they
had previously done the "Gulf Livery" on the iconic Porsche 917 that you see at shows too. The livery is practically the same regarding colours and the only difference is the iconic number, where I have the No.20, he has the No.10.
If you are interested in getting a wrap on your car, then please contact Dub Customs on the following:

The car is based in Brentwood, Essex, but am happy to travel if your in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, London, Surrey or Kent.
As you can see, we will be out and about at a few shows in 2024 and the car can be seen out driving around Essex, Suffolk, M25 and Central London all year round. If you see us about, your welcome to wave, flash your lights, take photos and have a chat.
